Great New Souvenirs

Posted on 19 / 11 / 2008 - 08:30 AM

We have made some changes to the store and added some wonderful new items for Christmas.

We have added ceramic coffee mugs and souvenir puzzles to our lamb store pages.  You can now choose your favourite lamb and have it printed on a coffee mug or jigsaw - how cool is that?

Also, the long awaited Superlamb Picture Book is now ready and can be purchased direct from Blurb.  Starting at just £17.95 for the softback edition, the picture book includes over 150 pages of wonderful photographs of the Superlambs and the local area.

Due to the overwhelming success of the Superlamb posters we’ve dropped the price to a tasy £9.99.

That’s it for now but do check back before Christmas as there may be a few more surprises.

Lambs make a mint

£550,000 raised at auction of 70 Superlambananas.

The auction held last night at St. George’s Hall was a massive success with a huge amount of money being raised for charity.

Three lambs fetched more than £20,000.  Liverpool Culture Company artistic director, Phil Redmond, snapped up four lambs.  One of which will be donated to National Museums Liverpool.

Mandy, Lamb No. 110, fetched the highest price of £25,000.

The majority of proceeds will be going to the Lord Mayor’s Charity.

Liverpool glows with the magic of La Machine

The brightest and most lauded cities in the world are built on thriving artistic and cultural communities.  The essence of this was highlighted when for three magical days, Liverpool was blessed by La Machine.

Tens of thousands descended on the city, in what seemed the worst possible September weather for the enormous ‘free’ open air spectacle.  The weather conditions were seemingly brushed aside however when the scale, beauty, engineering and performance of La Machine took hold.

In what is sure to live on as one of the most remarkable events in the great history of Liverpool, those lucky enough to see La Machine will know doubt count themselves blessed.

Incy Wincy Spider

Posted on 03 / 09 / 2008 - 11:08 AM

At the break of day an enormous mechanical spider appeared suspended from the Concourse Tower on Lime Street.

La Machine

The incredible site is the start of the 5 day long event of La Machine.  During it’s journey she will move around the city to a fanfare of music and special effects.  Scientists are gatherting at ACC Liverpool Arena to begin tests on the creature tomorrow to see how it responds.

Complete details of the schedule of events are available from the official La Machine website, and we’ll try out best to keep you updated throughout the weekend.

The Silence of the Lambs

Posted on 26 / 08 / 2008 - 04:39 PM

As tears were shed and many lay down their body’s in passive protest at their removal, today finally saw the collection of the Superlambs.

GoSuperlambananas Auction

But that’s not the last time you can see the lambs.  On September 8th and 9th the huge flock of lambs will be standing around St. George’s Plateau prior to the first auction.

Whilst initial rumours suggested some lambs will remain around the city this will not be happening unless those who purchase the lambs decide to do so.

A second auction for the remaining lambs will take place at a later date.

Charlie Langhorne, Director at Wild-in-Art, speaking on Radio Merseyside spoke of the unprecedented affection the people of Liverpool have shown for the Superlambs.

Having been involved in similar projects around the world he spoke of his delight at the lack of vandalism the Superlambs sustained; owing to the strong sense of ownership and pride the city has in the iconic image.
